Some thoughts on Memorial Day
I believe that everyday we should stop and thank those who have served our country. Memorial Day is great but these men and women risk their lives daily to protect our country. If it weren't for the members of our armed forces we may be speaking German or even Japanese now, maybe even Spanish. They help to uphold the freedoms that we as Americans take for granted every day. Our freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, the right to travel freely, freedom of religion, the ability to do pretty much what we want with some boundaries. They fight to give us the right to bash them, disrespect them and do all sorts of unthinkable things. Why would some one want to risk their life for such an ungrateful nation? Because of the pride that many of these brave men and women have for their country no matter how jaded it may be. So thank you very much for every man and woman that has served our country. Those that have gone into combat, those who have yet to go, those that will join in the future, the men and women who have given their lives as well as their families, Thank you. Any one that I may have unintentionally forgotten thank you! I support you everyday and am proud to have you to protect the country that I love. I can not thank you enough for everything that you do but this is one little thing that I can do. Thank you to all of you you really are Heros even those of you who do not wish to be thought of as such. I admire your courage and bravery and thank you once again for your service. Nicole Collins
